Grandparents Day

My Plan for a Recount
Title of my story:
Grandparents Day

Orientation: Use keywords to explain
Where
School and in church.
Here are some connectives you may want to use instead of THEN to move your story on:
after a while      afterwards      at once     at this moment
at this point       before that     finally     first (second third etc...)
here            in the end       lastly        later on      meanwhile
next     next time     now      on another occasion
previously       since     soon      straightaway   until then
when      whenever      while
When
Friday the 10th of November.
What
Grandparents day.
Why
To celebrate what they have done for us and how good they are to us.
Who
Howl school ,my mum and nanny.
These are the things I am writing about in the right order: (Use keywords only - you can add details when you write your story.)

Event 1
Church-mass for grandparents.
Event 2
Show Grandparents around class.
Event 3
Shared morning tea.
Event 4
concert-Gym,lip sync group, pacifica group, kapa haka,Filipino group. I was in the gym and kapa haka group.

WALT write a recount.
Success Criteria:
  • An orientation that describes where, when and who.
  • A sequence of events in the right order.
  • Connectives to lead the reader on ( e.g. first, next, after a while, a moment later, at last, finally)
  • A conclusion.
  • A personal comment.

Start with your title below.
Grandparents day
On Friday the 10th of November was grandparents day so we did church to bless them for all the nice things they have done for us. In church we did some singing, praying and receiving bread and wine and giving the new students rosary beads.

Straight away after that we showed our grandparents around our classroom and showed all the art we did and things like that. My nanny was saying nice comments about how great my art was because she is a very nice person. We also went into my sisters classrooms as well.

In the classes we had things to eat because everyone brought food so we could have a shared morning tea. My nanny said “that it was lucky she had three of us because we get to eat heaps of food”.

After that we did a concert we first had the gym people which I was in and we did roly polys and cartwheels and stuff like that but I and some others went in the little people group because they did not have enough people but it was fine with me and everyone loved it. After us was pasifika they were good too and then the lip sync group they were funny. After them was filipino they had cool dance moves and lucky last was kapa haka. I was in that too and we did a few things and they liked it.
